| When the contact area with bones is expanded, usually the bone fusion increases. But Wennerberg says that, when the surface roughness is Ra 1.3 ~ 1.5§, the optimal bone fusion roughness would be made. | In order to improve the success rate of implant, the cleanness of the fixture is one of the most critical. In this regard, OSSTEM developed the "Automatic Fator Cleaning System", which currently performs automatic cleaning on all OSSTEM products. OSSTEM has demonstrated the excellence of it's automatic cleaning system by analyzing and comparing fixture surface residual composition with other implant systems by use of the XPS. In particular, organic carbon components which are contaminants has been measured at 18.92% and the largest figure for osseointegration promoting factor, Ti + O, OSSTEM fixtures, have showed the best surface condition (See below table) OSSTEM conducts XPS analysis on each production lot every week, and delivers products that have passed the strict critera only. |

This is the result of implementing the stress interpretation on the Double Tapered Body (US III fixture), straight body (US II fixture) and the general Tapered Fixture. In caes of US III, the digestive power by the double tapered effect was dispersed into the Cancellous Bone, whose stress on the surface of the cortical bone is shown to be smaller compared to the straight body or tapered body. In other word, as US III disperses the digestive power to the Cancellous Bone side, the stress to Cortical Bone is relatively small and the stress to Cancellous Bone is relatively higher now. |

| Osstem Implant guarantees the life of 5 x 106 cycles, the standard for fatigue test that FDA and ISO have designated. The S-N curve of Osstem Implant is prepared with the acrual temperature of 20¡É ¡¾ 5¡É, the distance of weight impact for 11mm, the ramped load of 30¢ª and 10Hz. The weight of fatigue limit that guarantees the life 5 x 106 cycles by the S-N curve shall be SS II + Soild : 600N, SS II + ComOcta Plus : 450N, US II + Cemented Abutment : 300N. All result shows that the result exceeds 250N, the standard temporarily designated by ISO. |
